The TA-F40 is a stereo amplifier from 1980.
Despite its modest appearance, this model is known as a powerful 'wolf in sheep's clothing' thanks to a number of Sony technologies that were very advanced at the time.
Pulse Power Supply (PPS): switch-mode power supply; this ensured a stable power delivery.
Instead of heavy cooling fins, the TA-F40 uses a heat pipe system filled with fluid to dissipate heat.
High-quality Phono stage: The turntable input is suitable for both MM (Moving Magnet) and MC (Moving Coil) cartridges. This was unique in this price range at the time.
The front panel features a LED Peak Power display that shows the power.
Output power 2 x 50 Watts RMS into 8 ohms
