Antique solid walnut wood cabinet in Renaissance style.
Description from the seller
Elegant solid walnut center- or wall-mounted cabinet, configured as a tabletop coin cabinet mounted securely on a floor-standing base and topped by a tilting mirror (psyche). The central body faithfully reproduces the design of 17th-century Baroque money cabinets, characterized by an architectural façade divided into a grid of ten small drawers, decorated with geometric modanatures and lathe-turned wooden knobs. The upper part hosts a rectangular mirror enclosed between two baluster-turned columns, adjustable in its tilt. All of it rests on a solid, shaped central stem that opens into a refined four-foot curved base (cruciform or X-shaped frame) that ensures stability and elegance to the piece. This item merges the historic charm of collectible furniture (coin cabinet) with the practicality of a vanity or entryway piece.
Conditions: Good overall condition – used with small signs of wear. The cabinet is structurally sound, solid and stable. The wood surface preserves a beautiful warm patina. Being an antique item, it shows normal and light signs of surface wear and small scratches consistent with age and use, which do not compromise its aesthetics or functionality, but attest to its authenticity. The mirror is intact.
