Description from the seller
David Hockney
*1937 Bradford/UK - 2026 London
was a British painter, graphic artist, stage designer and photographer. He is regarded as an influential 20th-century artist with the genre focuses of landscape painting and portrait painting. Hockney is often described as a leading representative of art associated with Pop Art, but he has his own distinctive artistic profile.
His works fetch high prices at auctions. For example, his painting “Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures, 1972)” sold at Christie’s on November 15, 2018 for 90.3 million US dollars. Until 2019, it was the most expensive painting ever sold at auction by a living artist worldwide.
