AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

HIGHLIGHTS:

• Converted to manual 5-speed gearbox with hydraulic clutch
• Power-assisted front disc brakes
• Cylinder head equipped with larger valves according to C-Type specifications
• Stainless steel exhaust system and stainless steel fuel tank mounted
• Equipped with 123 ignition and alternator

HISTORIE/OVERZICHT:

The seller states that this is a driver’s car that has not been prepared as a concours car, but its reliability has proven over more than 34,000 km during various holiday trips to Austria, France, England and Scotland. The car was restored about 7 years ago in-house, with a photo report of the work kept. After being used intensively (approximately 7,000 km per year), there may be some light maintenance tasks to perform.

CARROSSERIE/LAK:

During the restoration all necessary sheet metal work was renewed and the bodywork was completely stripped, after which it was repainted inside and out with new paint layers. The paint is in good condition with minor signs of wear after intensive use; there is no rust or scratches, only a few small stone chips. All refined woodwork has been renewed and stainless steel bumpers mounted. The chrome work is not fully renewed but looks good, and the emblem on the trunk lid can be replaced if desired. Some rubbers that were renewed 7 years ago may need replacement again.

INTERIEUR:

The upholstery has been renewed using correct materials. A new soft top has been fitted, including headlining and insulation, in very good condition. The interior also features new carpet. All instruments have been refurbished and converted to kilometers per hour (KM). As extra equipment/security there is a Battery Brain installed against theft, as well as a camera on the front and rear.

MOTOR EN TECHNIEK:

The engine and carburetors have been rebuilt and equipped with a correct new electronic fuel pump, with the choke solenoid manually operated. The cylinder head has been adapted with larger valves to C-Type specifications. The transmission has been converted from automatic to manual 5-speed with a hydraulic clutch. The front brakes are equipped with power-assisted discs. Additionally, there is a stainless exhaust, a stainless fuel tank, a new wiring loom, a 123 ignition and an alternator installed. All lines and hoses have been renewed and the cooling system features a factory-correct new radiator with adaptations to prevent overheating. The tie-rod boot covers may be due for replacement.

AFHALEN:

The vehicle can be viewed and collected. Bids are exclusive of transport and export unless otherwise stated. Arranging transport, ownership transfer and any export documents/COC costs is the responsibility of the buyer.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
