Mel Ramos (1935-2018) - hand signiert - Donut Doll 2001

Mel Ramos (1935 Sacramento – 2018 Oakland) was an American artist and is regarded as a major figure of Pop Art.

His popularity rose as part of the Pop Art movement of the 1960s. Ramos is best known for his paintings of superheroes and lush female nudes emerging from corn stalks or Chiquita bananas, popping out of candy wrappers, or lounging in martini glasses. He was also an art professor at a university.
