Icon - Crucifixion of Christ - Bronze

Important and imposing blessing cross and kiot (domestic altar) from the tradition of the Old Believers (Staroobrjadcy). The object stands out for its extraordinary monumental dimensions (38 cm tall) and 20 cm in length, thanks to the superb quality of the casting. The front features the classic eight-pointed Orthodox iconography with God the Father Sabaoth blessing at the top, angels in flight, the sigla I.N.C.I., the anthropomorphic depictions of the Sun and Moon, and the walls of Jerusalem. At the bottom, the Golgotha cave with the skull of Adam and the complete liturgical sigla (NIKA, MLRB). The back is entirely and splendidly adorned in relief with the continuous floral motif of tendrils and sunflowers, symbol of the Tree of Life (Pomor'e style). The metal retains a magnificent original patina, weighs 1,034 grams and is structurally perfect.
