Indian hand-knotted Tibet rug, wool on cotton, model Tibet – Gereinigd, 210 cm by 197 cm, circa late 20th century, in very good condition, professionally cleaned and certified.
Description from the seller
-- "Impressive Tibet with beautiful colors in very good condition"
-- Professionally cleaned*
-- approx. 90,000 knots per m²
-- With Certificate
*Before arriving in our warehouse, cleaned at a laundry specializing in hand-knotted carpets, then used no further.
This is a hand-knotted Oriental rug, made from durable, natural materials. The method of knotting and the diversity of patterns make this rug unique and emphasize its authentic and artisanal character.
This beautiful Tibet is hand-knotted with the finest, unbleached wool from sheep in the high Tibetan region. This wool is naturally extra greasy due to the cold temperatures (it acts as insulation for the sheep). When used in carpets, this not only provides a beautiful, extra sheen but also serves as a natural protective layer. Better quality wool is (almost) unavailable. Naturally, minor color differences are visible because the wool is NOT bleached before the first dye bath. This gives the rug an authentic appearance and contributes to the character of this rug that is full of stories.
Main color: Sand
Details: Each rug has a lighter and a darker side. Made from 100% natural materials. Full, thick, and cushioned rug. An impressive rug with beautiful colors. Hand-knotted circa 1970 and full of stories.
Usage traces: -
Condition: Very good condition
