Description from the seller

Daido hysteric no.6

Daido Moriyama
HYSTERIC GLAMOUR/1994/Japanese/35.3×30.2cm

Daido Moriyama, one of Japan's leading photographers, has published “Daido hysteric No.6 1994,” a collection of his works. In the 60's, Moriyama published his first book “Nippon Gekijo Shashincho” while searching for his own style after meeting Eikoh Hosoe, Shomei Tomatsu, and Shuji Terayama, and in the 70's, he published ‘Provoke’ in collaboration with his close friend Takuma Nakahira, and “Shashin yo sayonara” as the culmination of their collaboration, a challenging work that overturned the stereotypes of photography. After a period of temporary stagnation, Daido Moriyama returned to his photographic roots in the 1980s with “Light and Shadow,” which was a stunning revival. The 80's, which still contained elements of a “sickly” period, could be said to be the 90's, when the active Moriyama resurrected once again. Through collaboration with the collection brand “Hysteric Glamour,” he proposed "to make a photo book like a magazine. The result was a trilogy of large-format softcover books, and this is the sixth issue.
