"Amor x Chile" (subtitled 30 Years of Photography) is one of the most iconic photobooks by the prominent Chilean artist and photographer Julia Toro, published in 2011 by Ocho Libros Editorial. It has become a very rare title, particularly as a signed copy.

Condition: the book is in excellent condition, outside with only slightest signs of usage, interior clean and unmarked, no stains or creased pages. Dedication and signature by Julia Toro on the first page in black ink.

The book compiles three decades of her analog visual work and is defined by the following key elements:
Multidisciplinary Dialogue: The book features a critical and aesthetic crossover between Toro's photography and various literary texts, essays, and poems by Chilean artists and critics who interpret or intertwine with her vision.
The Poetics of the Everyday: True to the author's signature style, the images capture intimacy, domestic life (kitchenware, backyards, interiors), eroticism, and street scenes filled with a deep fascination for the surroundings and the human condition.
Cultural Portrait: Beyond daily life, the volume rescues portraits of key figures from the Chilean vanguard, arts, and intellectual scene, all captured through her sensitive black-and-white lens.
Family Project: The curation and editing of the book involved close collaboration with her son, filmmaker and writer Mateo Goycolea Toro.

Julia Toro (born in Talca in 1933) began her self-taught journey into photography at the age of 39, ultimately becoming an essential figure in contemporary Chilean photography. Throughout her career, she has received major honors, including the Antonio Quintana Award and the Plagio Award for Artistic Creativity.
