Ibride Scotty & Sultan, a two-piece animal-shaped MDF side table set designed by Rachel and Benoît Convers and manufactured in France by Ibride, dating to circa 2000–2010, comprising white Scotty and black Sultan with dimensions Scotty 44×43×48 cm and Sultan 34×25×52 cm, both in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Meet Scotty and Sultan, a playful pair of animal-shaped side tables from the imaginative French design house Ibride. These distinctive pieces add a touch of whimsy to any space and blend functional furniture with sculptural art in the form of a sheep and a dog.
The tables are made from sturdy MDF panels that fit together seamlessly and showcase Ibride's signature flatpack construction technique. The set consists of a bright white table and a sleek black table, providing a striking monochrome contrast. Their zoömorphic silhouettes make them an instant conversation topic in any contemporary setting.
Both tables are structurally sound and fully functional, retaining their original quirky character. They show signs of use consistent with normal wear, which gives their graphic shapes a charming lived-in look. The signs of wear are visible in the photos: Sultan has a small chip on the tabletop and the rear legs of Scotty appear to be over-tightened, causing the paint to crack on one side of the legs. These can be rotated to conceal the damage under the protective cap. You would then need to remove the glue from the undamaged underside.
These distinctive objects are perfect for adding a touch of unexpected whimsy to a modern living room or a creative studio. They pair beautifully beside a sofa or function as artful pieces in a reading corner.
