Description from the seller

Important Maple & Co. sideboard (London & Paris), an authentic English high-joinery piece dating from the late 19th century – early 20th century.

Made in precious solid mahogany, it preserves in full all its original elements: the top with the original molded mirror, turned columns, refined relief carvings, period hardware, and the original plaque of the famous Maple & Co. maker, one of the most prestigious British furniture manufactories of the Victorian and Edwardian era.

The piece was personally purchased in London about forty years ago and has remained since then in the same private property. It is therefore not a piece recently put on the market, but furniture with documented provenance and family history.

The constructive quality is evident in every detail: artisanal craftsmanship, elegant proportions, rich carved decoration and superior finishes, characteristics that made Maple & Co. a supplier to the aristocracy and the European upper bourgeoisie.

The condition is very good for its age, with normal and light signs of wear consistent with over a century of life, which confirm its authenticity and charm.

An important piece with great presence, intended for collectors, antique dealers, interior designers or connoisseurs of original English furniture. Complete specimens with the original mirror, the producer's mark and proven provenance are today increasingly difficult to find on the market.
