Two matching Trophy Chrome table lamps in high-gloss chromed metal with large light beige/gold fabric shades, in Art Deco trophy-urn form, produced in Italy and dating from 1990–2000, in good vintage condition and in working order, each measuring about 60 cm tall with 30 cm square bases.
Description from the seller
Atmospheric and decorative set of two matching Trophy table lamps, finished in high-gloss chromed metal. The lamps feature a stately, classic design reminiscent of a trophy or classical urn, combined with generous lampshades.
The bases are built from several profiled and stepped segments. Centrally there is an elegant, bulb-shaped vase/urn form, after which the base transitions into a slender neck. The highly polished chrome creates a luxurious mirrored effect. Depending on the surroundings and light, attractive reflections appear on the surface.
Both lamps are fitted with large, light-translucent pleated shades in a soft beige/goldish tint. When the lamps are lit, the warm light subtly shines through the fabric. This gives the set a particularly pleasant and warm appearance. Also when turned off, the lamps form striking decorative objects due to their generous size and symmetrical design.
The combination of cool, glossy chrome with the warm classic lampshades creates a timeless whole. They fit perfectly in a classical, Hollywood Regency, hotel-chic, or eclectic interior. They are especially suitable as a pair on a large sidetable, sideboard, console, nightstands, or on either side of a sofa.
In the photos a standard bottle is placed between the lamps to give an impression of proportions and the generous size. The bottle is not part of the lot.
Condition
The lamps are in good used/vintage condition. The chromium surface shows locally normal signs of use and aging, such as light scratches, spots, and small imperfections. The shades may also show light signs of use and aging. These are typical for used decorative lighting and, in my opinion, do not significantly detract from the overall appearance of the set.
Both lamps are shown working in the photos. Please study all photos carefully; they form an important part of the description and provide a good view of the construction, condition, and any signs of use.
