A vintage Italian table lamp from circa 1970–1980, with a tall mirrored rectangular base and a large black trapezoidal textile shade, in good used condition and in working order, measuring 45 cm high, 30 cm wide and 15 cm deep.
Description from the seller
A special and decorative vintage table lamp with a clean, architectural design. The lamp base is constructed from tall rectangular, highly reflective panels that are divided into different planes by a diagonally running geometric line. Depending on the viewing angle and the lighting, this creates a beautiful play of reflections and various metallic tones.
The combination of the slim, modernist base and the large black trapezoidal fabric lampshade gives the lamp a distinctly chic appearance. When the lamp is lit, the light is spread warmly upward and downward. The dark shade then provides a moody and understated lighting effect.
The design evokes the luxurious Hollywood Regency / late Mid-Century / 1970s–1980s interior style, in which mirrored surfaces, geometric shapes, and contrasting dark lamp shades were widely used. Even in a modern or eclectic interior, this lamp makes a strong decorative accent.
Execution and details
The tall base has a rectangular shape and is finished with mirrored metal or mirror panels. The asymmetric diagonal design on the front adds extra depth to the otherwise minimalist form. Both the top and bottom edges are finished with a rectangular metal plate, giving the lamp a solid and polished silhouette.
Above the base is a gold/brass-colored connection piece on which the socket and lampshade are mounted. The black fabric shade tapers slightly upward, creating a nice contrast with the glossy base.
The bottle depicted in the photos is shown solely as a reference for scale and is not part of the lamp.
