Ancient double-ended metal rattle bell with a silvered finish – Decor of faces and stars – 149 g

Old antique double-ended rattle bell, shaped in an elongated form, notable for its decorative work and particularly substantial construction.

The object consists of a central handle terminated at each end by a perforated bell.

Each bell contains a movable element and produces a clear, powerful sound when shaken.

Both ends feature rich relief figurative decoration, with stylized faces, complemented by various incised and geometric motifs. Several stars are also visible on the bells.

The fabrication appears to have been cast and then manually finished on some details, suggested by surface irregularities and the different metal-worked motifs.

The piece has an old silvered finish, now naturally patinated. The dark areas in the recessed parts emphasize the relief of the faces and ornaments.
