This hand-knotted Sarough-Mir rug from India features a classic, medallion-free Boteh all-over design. The light inner field is fully filled with small, regularly arranged Boteh motifs. The dense and even repetition creates a calm and harmonious overall impression.

The cream-colored inner field forms a striking contrast to the finely drawn Boteh motifs in brown, burgundy, and dark blue. Several narrow secondary borders as well as a broad red-brown main border harmonically frame the field. Subtle accents in green, beige and blue complement the traditional color scheme.

The delicate all-over patterning and the restrained color palette give the rug a timeless and elegant Oriental aura. Its generous size makes it ideal for large living and dining rooms, bedrooms, or as a representative focal point in a spacious living area.
