This hand-knotted Sarough-Mir rug features a classic, medallion-free allover design. The rich red interior field is entirely adorned with regularly arranged, stylized boteh motifs, giving the rug a calm and harmonious structure.

A wide cream-colored main border framed by geometrically enclosed flowers and arabesques surrounds the interior field. Narrow accompanying borders in dark blue, beige and gold tones complement the design and create a striking contrast to the red ground.

The wool pile on a cotton warp gives the rug a pleasantly soft surface while also making it durable. Due to its slim format, it is excellent for hallways, entrances, bedrooms, or as a decorative accent in the living area.
