« Le Glyphoscope » – an antique stereoscopic photographic apparatus – circa 1905-1925 Jules Richard Paris – Description Rare antique stereoscopic photographic device « Le Glyphoscope » manufactured by Jules Richard in Paris at the start of the 20th century. The Glyphoscope is an emblematic device of French stereoscopic photography. Designed both as a camera and viewfinder, it allowed one to create and observe relief images using the stereoscopic process, very popular during the Belle Époque and the interwar period. The offered model shows a beautiful original patina and retains its essential features:
• double front objective ;
• upper viewfinder ;
• black metal construction ;
• mechanical controls present ;
• original markings visible.
The device is sold in its discovery state, not tested with plates. The mechanisms appear visually complete but no guarantee of operation is given due to the object’s age.
A fine collectible for a lover of early photography, stereoscopic devices or Jules Richard equipment.

Antique condition with normal signs of use and storage:
• surface wear ;
• occasional oxidations ;
• dust and patina consistent with age ;
