Description from the seller

A fine and highly decorative pair of Cambodian Solid Silver zoomorphic betel boxes, dating to the early 20th century, each modelled in the form of an elephant with raised trunk and prominent tusks.

Both pieces are richly worked with chased, engraved and repoussé-style decoration, including elaborate floral saddle panels, stylised ears and facial features, ornamental borders, patterned feet and numerous small punched circular motifs across the bodies.

The undersides are clearly stamped “999”, as shown in the photographs.

Condition
Both pieces are in excellent antique condition overall, with only very light age-related wear, minor surface marks and natural patina consistent with age and use. No significant damage noted. The lids fit well, the trunks and tusks are intact, and the overall presentation is particularly attractive.
