Industrial coffee table on a frame of vintage surgical lamp, FAMED, Poland

Side table built on the frame of a surgical lamp cart from the Polish brand FAMED, a manufacturer with a long history in medical equipment production. Originally this frame carried a surgical lamp on a heavy tubular frame; in this version the frame is preserved and fitted with two handmade oak tops.

The cream/beige steel frame is kept in its original industrial finish, including the operating panel with the original switches on the front. These have remained visible as part of the character of the piece; they are not functionally connected, but could be re-linked upon interest. On the inside of the cart there is a closed storage compartment, suitable for bottles, vinyl records or small items.

The top surface is finished in dark-stained oak and is fully rotatable 360 degrees, allowing the top to be positioned as desired. The frame runs on the original four caster wheels, so the piece remains easy to move.

With its recognizable medical origin combined with its new function as a table, this piece lends itself to use as a side table, record-player station or mobile bar in an interior with a pronounced industrial character.
