AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Exceptional and extremely rare perpetual desk calendar (calendrier perpétuel) from Vieux Paris porcelain, produced by the famous French porcelain maker Jean Gille (active circa 1845–1868).

This mechanical luxury object is executed in fine white porcelain. By turning the porcelain cylinders, the days, numbers and months visible in the front windows change.

On the inside there is the authentic, applied blue biscuit porcelain maker's mark with the monogram 'JG' (Jean Gille de Paris).

The factory is mainly known for its biscuit figurines; its functional desk accessories, such as this calendar, were produced in very small editions and are rare today.

A pair of very small flea bites.
A candle was placed in the holder at the top. As a result, there is some candle wax in the opening.
1 superficial hairline crack on the upper part.
