A compact wide-angle from the original A-mount line, introduced alongside the Minolta α-7000 (Dynax 7000) — the camera that made autofocus SLRs mainstream.

Sharp and crisp, with rich tonal gradation and the deep colour rendering Minolta lenses are known for.

8 elements in 8 groups, 55mm filter, f/2.8–22, minimum focus 0.25m.

It fits Minolta and Sony A-mount bodies directly, and can also be used on Sony E-mount cameras with the appropriate adapter.
