A large English Art Deco ceramic jar with lid, a cookie jar or biscuit jar with Oriental influence. Hand-painted with flowering branches, leaves, butterflies on a yellow background. A striking iridescent purplish edge at the top and at the handles, decorated with a nice knob on the lid. The jar is marked.

Condition: signs of use. Craquelure glaze. Hairline crack in the lid.
