Description from the seller

Very handsome antique hand-powered Kayser sewing machine from the early part of the last century.
Produced by the German manufacturer Kayser Fabrik AG (later the Pfälzische Nähmaschinen- und Fahrradfabrik), founded in 1864 by the brothers John and Friedrich Kayser.
These machines were produced in the German town of Kaiserslautern.

The machine is known for its solid, sturdy quality and heavy, indestructible construction.
Furthermore, this manufacturer was known for its mechanical reliability and innovations. For example, the founder in 1882 brought the very first usable zigzag sewing machine to market.
These kinds of sewing machines are fully mechanical (without vulnerable electronics) and still operate as smoothly as a century ago, provided they are well maintained.

It features beautiful gold lettering and decorative motifs on the black cast-iron housing.
It stands on a wooden base with an inlaid scale and has a removable wooden cover.

Comes with the accompanying wooden cover, key and accessories pictured.

The photos are part of the description.
Shipped insured.
