Pair of Art Deco bronze patinated bookends, signed Bienvenue
Elegant pair of Art Deco-style bookends depicting two stylized antelopes in motion, with particularly fluid and sculptural lines.
The animals show a beautiful geometric stylization characteristic of Art Deco aesthetics, with elongated forms and a very decorative treatment of the bodies and limbs. The brown patina, nuanced by slightly more golden reflections on the protruding parts, gives the piece nice depth.
Each sculpture rests on a rectangular stone/marble base, providing stability and contrast with the dark patina of the metal.
The pair is signed « Bienvenue » on the sculpture.
