First Edition.
Beautiful suite of 24 lithographs published in the Journal des chasseurs. Here published as a fresh album, with its own title page, by the celebrated Parisian gunmakers Maison Devisme.
This is two full years worth of the journal - for 1840-1842. (One lithograph per month).
The title vignette is engraved by Charles Henri Hancké who was the director of Lith. Formentin & Cie Depicts hunting scenes, each with captions in French, followed by six leaves of fanfares (text and music printed to one side of leaf only).
A scarce item, none for sale and only occasionally at auction in this (or similar bound) collection. Moderate foxing throughout. Creasing to front free endpaper. In contemporary buckram binding with slight rubbing to the binding.
260 by 340mm (10¼ by 13½ inches).

We are professional booksellers based in France, and have been members of ILAB for many years. We currently hold full membership of SLAM, as well as other organisations. We also sell at fairs and markets across Europe.
We are often found at brocantes and marches, searching for books and prints. We are also always interested in acquiring new stock from individuals, so if you have books or prints to sell, do get in touch.
We are proud to purchase biodegradable packaging and materials. Where possible, all of our book wrap and tape are compostable or re-cyclable. If you do receive any plastic bubble wrap from us - it is because we are re-using items we have received.
