Description from the seller
Pair of Large Ornate Louis XV Style Brass Candlesticks - 31 cm
An elegant pair of large, heavy decorative candlesticks (flambeaux) crafted from cast brass, dating back to the late 19th or early 20th century.
Designed in the ornate French Louis XV / Rococo Revival style, these pieces showcase exquisite craftsmanship with flowing asymmetrical lines and elaborate organic motifs.
Key features and decorative details:
- Rich ornamental design featuring prominent acanthus leaves, rocaille shells, scrolls, and sculpted fruit motifs on the upper stem.
- Beautiful geometric criss-cross (lozenge) patterning on the candle nozzles.
- Wide petal-shaped drip pans (bobèches) crafted to catch wax effectively.
- Sturdy, hollow-cast tri-pod bases with traditional sand-casting texture visible underneath, ensuring excellent stability.

The pair is in good antique condition, showing a beautiful, authentic dark oxidation patina in the deep recesses that highlights the high-relief details.
