Description from the seller
Technics SL-6 – Direct Drive Automatic Linear Tracking Turntable – Japan – ca. 1982
A remarkable vintage Technics SL-6 turntable, manufactured in Japan by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. around 1982.
The SL-6 is a technically interesting model from the heyday of Japanese Hi‑Fi. This compact turntable combines Direct Drive with a fully automatic linear tracking tonearm. The tonearm is mounted at the top of the player and moves linearly across the record during playback.
A notable feature is the programmable track system. With the 1 to 10 buttons at the front, individual tracks can be selected and played in a desired order. For that period, a particularly advanced technology, through which Technics approached the ease of operation of later digital players.
