Grand double antique typographic cabinet – SOLAC Lyon – Singular piece – 88 cm
Grand double antique typographic cabinet in wood, composed of two sections joined to form a singular piece of 88 cm in length.
The two parts feature different compartment layouts, creating an original ensemble that is particularly decorative.
The numerous compartments were originally intended for sorting metal type.
An old metal handle bears the marking “SOLAC – LYON,” visible in the photographs.
The wood presents a beautiful aged patina, with varying tones and traces of use deliberately preserved to maintain the authentic and industrial character of the piece.
Through its assembly, its two different compositions, and its large format, this piece has an unusually striking decorative presence. It can be displayed horizontally or vertically as wall decoration, a cabinet of curiosities, a display for miniatures, or a collection of objects.
