Elegant Art Nouveau-style brass two-flame candlestick
Very decorative two-burner Art Nouveau candlestick made of gold-colored brass. The candlestick impresses with its exceptionally filigree, organic-floral design with softly curved lines.
The slender shaft, flaring downward, transitions into an openwork, architecturally styled base. In the upper part the curved arms on both sides are divided and each carries a vase-shaped candle holder with a drip plate. As a special eye-catcher there is a stylized floral ornament in the center.
The formal language is very typical of Jugendstil around 1900: plant forms, curved lines and decorative openwork decoration. Similar two-burner brass luminous fittings were also made around 1900 by important ateliers such as the Vereinigte Werkstätten für Kunst im Handwerk München.
