Canon Demi EE28, tested and working.
Description from the seller
CANON Demi EE28, tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Canon Demi series were Canon's answer to the half-frame craze of the 1960s: neat, well-built cameras that squeeze 72 exposures from a standard 36-exposure roll. The Demi EE28 of 1967 pairs a 28mm f/2.8 lens — a genuinely wide angle for the half-frame format — with a selenium-cell automatic exposure system that needs no battery, plus a manual override. It was the wide-angle companion to the better-known Demi EE17, and is scarcer today. Pocketable and engineered to Canon's usual standard, it is an appealing and slightly unusual half-frame camera for collectors and film shooters alike.
Important — please read carefully:
The meter reads about 1 to 2 EV bright. The camera otherwise works correctly. Please review the photos and consider this before bidding.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned, heavy signs of use, or minor optical flaws
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and marks from normal use. Please check the photos.
Optical Condition
Finder: Cleaned internally — clear
Lens / Sensor: Cleaned internally — clear.
Functional
The camera operates properly — shutter, film transport and the selenium meter all work, and the automatic exposure responds to changing light.
The meter reads a little bright against our reference: about +1.1 EV at EV12 and +1.8 EV at EV15.
The viewfinder and lens have been cleaned internally and the light seals replaced.
No battery is required.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 1.1 OVER / EV15: 1.8 OVER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Light seals (foam) replaced
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
- Lens cleaned internally
Known Issues
1. The selenium meter reads about 1 to 2 EV bright — automatic exposures run generous. Negative film tolerates this; use the manual setting for slide film.
2. Cosmetic scuffs and marks from normal use (see photos).
Bundled Items
Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package.
