AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Watch and Jewelry Case: A Dialogue Between Essences and Geometries
The box is made of white maple, lightly figured, and yew.
The yew in question was recovered by salvaging the wood of a centuries-old tree that was diseased and then felled due to illness.
The tree stood in the garden of Villa Torchi in Bologna.
This chest plays with the contrast between yew wood and the pristine maple, arranged in a striped pattern with circular inlays on the exterior.
The technical heart of the project is the concealed wooden hinge: an integrated mechanism that supports the wooden and glass lid.
Durability is guaranteed by contrasting joints on the edges, turning a structural detail into a decorative element.
Inside, the leather-lined bottom protects the watches, while modular dividers allow the space to be organized for both watches and jewelry.
The finish is applied by hand with the traditional pad technique, using a handmade blend of shellac, benzoin, and elemi gum. The result is a satin, silk-like sheen to the touch.

Two compartments for watches, one for jewelry
