AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This beautiful large clock
Antique Napoleon hat clock - Berger & Würker Leipzig (B.W.L.) ca. 1912 is a
Magnificently hand-carved Chapeau de Napoléon clock, also known as the Napoleon hat. A true showpiece from the German clock’s golden age.

Movement stamped B.W.L. = Berger & Würker, Leipzig. Founded in January 1885 by Rudolf Louis Berger and Otto Heinrich Würker. From around 1912 they used BWL as the official factory mark (before that B&W). The factory closed in 1967.

The case is richly hand-carved. The movement runs, authentic and more than 100 years old. A piece of craft history that survived two world wars

Unfortunately, the owners cleaned the dial too much and the silver coating has worn off.
