Technical instrument - Germany - 1900-1910 - antique spinthariscope

Antique spintaryskop in excellent, age-appropriate condition. Complete set consisting of a velvet-lined box and 4 numbered parts. Manufacturer B.Jost Duisburg D.G.R.M 273476 (circa 1905-1906).

The set is complete and consists of (numbers corresponding to engravings on the housings):
1. the body with an eyepiece/lens, inside which there is an adjustable needle as a source,
2. tube/extension with a scintillation screen
3. the cover (in the photos attached to part no. 1)
4. a short nut with an additional scintillation screen.

The technical condition is flawless, but obviously no flares are visible due to the age of the device and the degradation of the scintillation screen coating (to operate it you need to apply a new ZnS(Cu) coating to the bottom of screens 2 or 4).
