Antique Neo-Classical Engraved Silver Tea Caddy with Presentation Stand / Base
Portugal assay mark (1938-1984), 916/000, and same date marker's mark.
An elegant antique silver tea caddy (caixa de chá) featuring a matching fixed or dedicated presentation stand/base resting on four button feet. The caddy boasts a refined oval shape decorated with fine Neo-Classical bright-cut engravings of floral swags, garlands, and central medallions. The hinged lid is surmounted by an exquisite cast finial shaped like a flower bud or poppy pod.
The underside shows a hand-hammered swirled finish, and hallmarks/purity marks are present on the inner rim of the lid.
Condition: Excellent antique condition. The hinge works perfectly, the engraving remains crisp, and the structure is solid with no major dents or repairs. Natural light patina.
