Antique Danish pewter measuring vessel made by L.W. Buntzen, Copenhagen, and dated 1880.
The cylindrical measure has a strong angular handle, slightly flared rim and several original stamped marks, including the capacity mark 1P, verification marks and the clearly visible date 1880.
The underside is stamped with the maker’s name L.W. Buntzen.
A fine example of a late 19th-century Danish measuring vessel, originally made for practical commercial use.
The surface has retained its attractive dark grey patina and shows normal traces of use and age, including scratches, small marks and wear.
A charming and authentic collector’s item with plenty of historical character. It would also make a beautiful decorative piece in a rustic, antique or Scandinavian interior.
