AUGUST OBJECTIVE 8-64mm f/1.9 Type 8x8B + BEAULIEU S2008 - The mythical Super 8 zoom - For parts
Stunning zoom P. Angénieux Paris Type 8x8B 8-64mm f/1.9 in Beaulieu mount with its rare original diamond cap, delivered on Beaulieu body S2008 1967. The lens that made the Beaulieu legend.
THE LENS - THE STRONG POINT OF THE LOT:
Clear glass, no fungus, no scratches, no haze. Age-related fine dust normal. Diaphragm TESTED and FUNCTIONAL from f/1.9 to f/16, blades dry and responsive. Only defect: original grease dried, zoom and focus with slight creaking and a stiff spot, classic after 60 years. No need to throw it away, a simple CLA by a pro will restore it to smooth as new. Optically it is very good.
THE S2008 BODY - SOLD FOR PARTS WITH 2 DEFICIENCIES:
Complete body for do-it-yourselfer with 2 visible flaws in photos: 1/ Missing cartridge housing door 2/ Back of grip / battery cover missing with exposed wires. Viewfinder with prism detachment and beige stain. Film window clean. Motor not testable in its current state. 20x15x8 cm, metal/glass/similar, black-silver, shipped Colissimo tracked.
