Italian vintage wall mirror in good used condition with small signs of aging and spots, framed with wood, bamboo and rattan, external dimensions approximately 81 by 61 cm (inner 70 by 36 cm).
Description from the seller
Special vintage wall mirror from Italy, presumably dating from the 1970s. The mirror features a richly decorated frame of wood, bamboo, and finely woven rattan.
Dimensions: approx. 82 × 61 cm.
The rectangular frame is built from several layers and techniques. The broad outer edge features fine, regular latticework, framed by twisted and woven rattan strands. The four corners are extra decorated with darker weaving. The top side has a characteristically gently curved profile. Above the mirror there is a decorative openwork section with a geometric pattern.
The combination of natural materials, artisanal weaving, and the pronounced decorative design is typical of the Italian Mediterranean and Riviera style from the 1960s–1970s. The design strongly recalls the decorative Italian designs that, during this period, are associated with Vivai del Sud, although no brand, label, or other maker’s mark has been found on this specimen. The mirror is therefore not attributed to Vivai del Sud.
The mirror is in used vintage condition, appropriate for its age. The wood and weaving show various small signs of use, light wear, and aging. These give the piece an authentic character. The mirror glass is present and functional.
A decorative and characterful vintage mirror that can be used as a striking wall piece in an eclectic, Mediterranean, or mid-century interior.
Carefully packed in recycled materials and insured for shipment.
