Beer stein (4) - Stoneware, Glass, pewter

This lot feature 4 antique beer mugs created between 1800s and early 1900s in Central European region, Germany.

Large Blue Stoneware Stein: This piece can easily be attributed to a Westerwald workshop and was created around the second half of 19th century. Decorated in abundance with floral motifs and geometrical paterns, its main theme features a crowned man standing on a throne (Gambrinus - The God of Drinking). Its shape is atypical due to the body form and lid mechanism. The piece is in very good condition, without damages, presenting only some irregularities from creation process and some minor use signs on the lid.
Dimensions: Height - 17cm, Base diameter - 9.5cm, Weight - 606g, Volume - 500ml.

Middle Size Blue Stoneware Stein: Created most likely at the end of 19th century by the german ceramics factory Reinhold Merkelbach. Its body is ornated in circumference with baroque dolphins and geometrical paterns. Under its base the factory stamp is clearly visible. The lid has a polychrome painted plaque mounted on pewter, presenting a corn flower blossom. The piece is in excellent condition, without defects, only some minor use signs.

München Kindl Small Stein: Created most probably in the early 1900s in Germany, this polychrome stein is decorated with the emblem of german city München - a young monk dressed in a black habit with a gold border and red shoes, holding a red oath book with his right hand raised in a blessing or oath. In this small size, this piece can be considered scarce, while its condition is excellent without damages.
Dimensions: Height - 12cm, Base diameter - 6cm, Weight - 242g, Volume - 100ml.

Engraved Glass Beer Mug - Created most likely in the early 1800s this glass piece was traditionaly handblown while its flat band folded handle was attached after. Its body is ornated with engravings of two arrows one above another displayed horizontally. Under its base a pontil scar is clearly visible, surounded by consistent use signs. Small scratches are visible near the mouth also, proof of intense usage. Unfortunately the lid is missing and a fisure (most likely caused by sudden temperature shift) is present, starting from the base while climbing towards the middle part, not compromising its structure, because thickness of glass material in the region. The item can be still usable even in this condition and can become a very nice display piece.
