AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Pair of gilded bronze candelabras with putti, 19th century – five lights

Elegant and spectacular pair of gilded bronze candelabras, French 19th century work, each with five lights.

The stems are richly adorned with porting-putti torchbearers, modeled in the round and topped with a bouquet of winding arms decorated with foliage, volutes and rocaille motifs. The bobeches and bouillons are finely worked, while the mobile and molded bases rest on generously decorated serpentine feet.

The overall piece displays a fine quality of casting, chasing, and ornamentation, with warm gilding that particularly enhances the relief of the decoration. The composition, balanced and highly decorative, is in the French historicist taste of the 19th century, inspired by 18th-century models.

By their size, their rich decoration, and their visual presence, these candelabras form a very handsome pair of display pieces, ideal for a console, a fireplace, a sideboard, or a characterful interior.

Dimensions:
Height: 44 cm
Width: about 25 cm per candelabrum

Very beautiful antique pair, decorative, harmonious and particularly appealing for its subject with putti and its rich gilded bronze decoration.
