Pair of small crater vases in alabaster, estimated period 1940–1950, classical/neoclassical style, height 16 cm, width 8 cm, depth 8 cm, weight 2 kg, in good condition with signs of wear and small chips.
Description from the seller
A084 — Pair of small crater vases
DESCRIPTION
Elegant pair of small ornamental vases presumably made of alabaster, with warm ivory and honey tones, characterized by natural pinkish and brown veining.
The two pieces feature a classic crater shape, with a wide flared rim, turned and bulbous body, shaped foot and square base. The workmanship enhances the transparency and natural color variations of the stone, making each specimen slightly different from the other.
The pair retains a pleasant patina of age and shows widespread traces of use, small chips, and irregularities along the edges and bases, visible in the photographs and consistent with the age and delicacy of the material.
Era: presumably early 20th century
Style: classical / neoclassical
Craftsmanship: turned and shaped alabaster
Material: presumably alabaster
Dimensions: H 16 × L 8 × P 8 cm each
Conditions: Good condition. Signs of wear, small chips and superficial irregularities, particularly along edges and bases, as visible in the photographs.
