A natural malachite rough mineral specimen from Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo, weighing 2.31 kg and measuring 130 × 110 × 90 mm, with well-developed concentric banding, botryoidal growth, and pale green druzy pockets, unworked with natural surfaces.
Description from the seller
A substantial natural malachite specimen showing well-developed concentric banding across multiple faces, with classic botryoidal (kidney-shaped) growth structures and several pale green druzy pockets where crystal growth was exposed to open cavities.
The piece is entirely unworked — no cutting, polishing, dyeing or stabilising. Natural fracture and growth surfaces throughout, with light limonite staining and small remnant matrix areas that confirm the specimen has not been treated. Banding is visible in section on several faces, ranging from deep forest green through to pale mint.
Origin: likely Katanga Province, D.R. Congo (uncertified).
Dimensions: 130 × 110 × 90 mm maximum envelope.
Weight: 2.31 kg.
Condition: good. Natural surface irregularities and minor edge chips consistent with an uncleaned field specimen. No repairs or restoration.
Sold as a natural mineral specimen for display or as high-grade lapidary rough.
