Reverse: Crowned coat of arms within a richly ornate surround, with provincial and value indications.

After the death of mintmaster Johan Wijntgens in 1644, urban minting production in Deventer lagged for some time. In 1661 the mint was reopened under the leadership of Dr. Johan van Harn. As mintmaster’s mark he chose the Morenkop, derived from the helm mark of the Van Harn family coat of arms.

From the silver ducat of 1662 an estimated only about 21,000 specimens were struck, making this a rare issue.
