Well-preserved kidney dagger from the 15th century
wooden grip preserved with a filigree guard and pommel
Over time, the two bulges became smaller until they disappeared entirely. There are various versions of the kidney dagger. This one features a very elaborately worked guard, finely cut. The owner was probably wealthy. The pommel is worked similarly to a bishop's mitre; between the wooden grip and the iron there are brass supporting pieces.
