An antique Hour Lavigne mantel clock from 1930s France
This small French mantel clock features an Arc de Triomphe-inspired design, milk glass columns, and a gold-plated solid brass finish.
It has a dial with Roman numerals, openwork relief hands, and an alarm function.
The Lavigne brand began manufacturing prestigious clocks in 1848. During this period, Charles Hour took over a workshop specializing in the production of complex clock movements and stylish designs.
The "Hour Lavigne" brand name was officially established in 1930 through a merger with Maurice Lavigne; it remains one of France's luxury brands in the art of clockmaking to this day.
Exquisite craftsmanship; the clock keeps excellent time and the alarm functions perfectly. It feels substantial and solid in the hand, with a satisfying weight.
