Description from the seller
Napoleonic III gondola chair from the mid-19th century, originating from the Veneto region, Italy.
Made of walnut wood, with a backrest carved in the shape of a lyre with symmetrical swans, and sabre legs. Seat reupholstered with a mixed-silk blue damask fabric with vegetal motifs, showing an elegant iridescence in a copper-orange tone depending on how the light falls.
Some time ago it underwent a 15-day anti-woodworm treatment and a light restoration with a wax finish, preserving and enhancing the original beauty of the material. The wood shows slight signs of use and the passage of time as can be seen in the detail images.
