Very beautiful and dignified statue of an Ashanti dignitary seated on a stool of a typical Akan style. This piece shows us that Ashanti statuary is not solely made up of fertility Akuaba dolls but also of effigy-type pieces or at least as a way to present the image of a high-ranking individual. A form of court art.
