Beautiful vintage Swiss mechanical music box / jewellery box, fitted with an original Reuge musical movement.
The movement retains its label identifying the melody as:

“Doctor Zhivago – Lara’s Theme”
REUGE – Swiss Musical Movement
The box is beautifully executed in dark wood and richly decorated with green and gold floral brocade, ornamental trim and small decorative metal feet. The lid features a green velvet-like central panel with an elaborate metal floral mount and turquoise-coloured cabochon.
The musical mechanism is visible beneath a glass panel inside the box, adding considerably to its decorative and collectible appeal.
