Description from the seller
Crystal Ship's Decanter with Sterling Silver Mount – Birmingham Hallmarked – 20th Century
An elegant crystal ship's decanter, beautifully proportioned with a broad, low body and a finely hand-cut diamond pattern that radiates across the lower half of the vessel. The faceted neck and mushroom-shaped stopper create a refined silhouette, while the sterling silver collar adds a distinguished British touch.
The silver mount bears English hallmarks for Birmingham, dating to the 20th century, together with the maker's initials "WW". The combination of brilliant cut crystal and polished sterling silver reflects the timeless craftsmanship associated with classic British luxury tableware.
Originally intended for serving whisky, cognac, brandy or port, this impressive decanter also makes an elegant decorative object for a bar, library or dining room. Its broad "ship's" shape was traditionally designed to remain stable aboard ships, making it both functional and iconic.
The decanter is in good vintage condition, with light signs of age and use consistent with its period. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
