Set of 4 Pekín Chinese Rugs – 100% Handmade – 1950–1960

We present a precious and unusual set of four Pekín Chinese rugs, made approximately between 1950 and 1960.

They are 100% handmade, woven in pure wool on a cotton foundation, with the characteristic Pekín design of floral and ornamental motifs in elegant cream, terracotta and blue-gray tones.

The set consists of:

* 1 large rug: 158 × 90 cm
* 2 identical rugs: 132 × 60 cm each
* 1 small rug: 97 × 60 cm

Because of their different sizes, they form a very decorative and versatile ensemble, ideal as bedroom rugs on the sides and at the foot of the bed, in front of a fireplace, in an entry hall, or distributed in different areas of the same room.

For their approximately 65–75 years of age, they are in very good overall condition. They do not show major tears or significant wear of the pile. Only some wear and some fringes cut short or shorter, normal given their age and clearly visible in the photographs.

Only a light professional cleaning is recommended to remove dust accumulated during storage and refresh the rugs.

A beautiful and hard-to-find original set of four Pekín rugs from the period, kept together for decades and especially attractive for classic or vintage décor.
