AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Antenna dagger
Celtic, circa 6th century BCE
Length 33 cm

The characteristic antenna daggers (and antenna swords) of the Celts mainly existed in the Earlier Iron Age, more precisely in the late Hallstatt period between about 600 and 450 BCE. They belong to the absolute status and flagship weapons of this Celtic generation.

They were named after the antennae worked at the end of the grip, which even had gold or coral as endings.
This variant is a simpler version for the early period of this weapon type.

The rings are made of bronze and served as decoration on the grip, which was organic and is unfortunately no longer present. Bronze without patina also appears gold-colored and was probably the first choice for non-royal dignitaries.
